Life with a Goffins Cockatoo and Cockatiel

We started out writing this section just to give a little glimpse into the depth of commitment needed to live with and raise a happy Goffins Cockatoo. Then, the little section got bigger and bigger! So we broke it into smaller sections for easier reading. We hope everyone will read our purpose as it is very important to know what you are getting into when buying a bird - Birds aren't easy! At least not all birds are. Our cockatiel is infinitely easier to live with than our Goffins, but Rocky (pictured at the right as a 3 1/2 month-old baby and below at almost 8 years) provides us with a lot of fun too! Please consider that they are a LOT of work before getting one! They are wonderful, but you REALLY have to be ready!

Purpose and Disclaimer - Why we put this section together

Buyer Beware - Don't fall into the "Birds are Cool" trap without knowing the facts and "Birds are not easy!" contrary to that terrible myth! They are fun, but they require lots of work and commitment.
